"NB I have tried searching but cant find the exact answer I want"

Right I need to know what brakes calipers are the same as the 306 GTi6 calipers?

A rough price and where to get them from?

Thanks

Only other car to have the same brakes was the Xsara VTS.

The 307 HDI brakes have a slightly smaller piston IIRC.

I think they are the same size as on some 406's but the yokes are different.

The 307 HDi are designed to work with 26mm thick discs, not 21mm as on the GTi6. They have smaller pistons too; 54mm against 56 or 57mm I think, so tend to work better with standard 205 master-cylinders.

re the 406 callipers...so you just need the 307 283mm discs & pads and the 307 yokes?

Theres loads of 57mm Lucas callipers at my local breakers and would be nice to get some if I only need the 307 yokes. You can see the 406 discs wont fit as the hub is almost flush with the disc.

Thats right, but 306 discs and 306 yokes.

283mm 307 items are similar but not compatible. Try getting cheap 306 yokes though. :(
