Presently building a 1900 8 valve, std bottom end, ported head, 3 angle valve job, twin 45mm carbs and longman extractor. which cam should I use? I have both. It will be a road car,

power when used with 2 x 45 dcoe's

exhaust; 0.460" 11.68mm

Lift @ TDC; Inlet- 0.109" 2.77mm Exhaust- 0.107" 2.72mm

Valve clearances; Inlet- 008" / .20mm Exhaust- .010" / .25mm

 

I know of an engine that was almost the same spec as you suggest with the PT23 & that made 150bhp @ wheels on Dave Bloggs rollers which was a surprise to them. (I've got this engine now. :D)

PT23 - it is only a "race cam" in 1.6 in a 1.9 it is classed as Supersports or Rally IIRC. as Pumaracing say they rarely measure up to the spec and the figures for duration are advertised not at .1mm or 1mm so they are comparable to a Catcam 279.

 

so PT23 all the way.
