1.6 Gearbox In A 1.9 ?

Hi there. i have been speaking to a friend who has said get a 1.9 an put a 1.6 gearbox in it. Does anybody know whether there is that much of a difference ??

Run a search. There is loads of threads on gearbox swaps. Yes it can be done, its a bit closer. Theres some posts with exact speed / rpm figures on here.

gear ratios worked for me

I'vre done this to a few of the 1.9's I own. Gives better acceleration but a lower top speed.
