roland rat 11 Posted September 9, 2006 im having trouble fitting the 307 hdi brakes to my 205.i bought the callipers from my local scrap yard who told me that the callipers came of a 2.0 hdi.then i bought new discs and pads from brakeparts.co.uk as listed in bonzai's fitting guide.when i went to slide the callipers over the new discs they wouldnt,it seems if the yokes are the wrong size!!! does this mean i might have been sold a lower spec brake calliper from my local scrappy? roland rat 11 Posted September 9, 2006 What 205 GTi, 1.6 or 1.9? Graham. 205gti 1.9.problems with the callipers not the car.
Bonzai 2 Posted September 9, 2006 can you take some pics mate? hard to get an idea of whats wrong
cybernck 403 1 Cars Posted September 9, 2006 maybe they are 206 hdi calipers (yokes) then? unless your car is a 1.6 converted to 1.9, or uses 1.6 hubs for some other reason.
roland rat 11 Posted September 9, 2006 (edited) i was wrong saying the yokes are to blame, the callipers just wont slide over the discs!!! does anybody have the measurements of the lower spec discs and callipers fitted to the 307 range? cybernck 403 1 Cars Posted September 10, 2006 hmm, maybe stating the obvious here, but maybe you need to take the pads out and push the pistons back in? 307 hdi discs are 283mm, 206 hdi are 266.

Bonzai 2 Posted September 10, 2006 the lower spec calipers are 54mm also... http://www.webparts.co.uk/Brakeworld/Buygu...TML/2119101.HTM if you post some pics then maybe i and others can help, otherwise we're just left to guess
Rippthrough 98 Posted September 10, 2006 And there are two different offsets for the 266mm ones too, just for more fun.
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted September 10, 2006 307 hdi brakes are 283mm iirc but they have thicker discs than the same sized 206/306 so maybe you have been sold completely the wrong brakes with incorrect yokes or they aren't from the car he said they are from. cybernck 403 1 Cars Posted September 11, 2006 my guess is that you just need to get the right yokes now as the 54mm calipers you have are more than likely to be the same across the range. you'll need 283x26 discs ofcourse.
