Engine Has Died

The Lights extinguish when running, all on when on Ignition.

If the breather pipes blew though, I wonder if that would cause the poor oil pressure?

OK, Fred, just spotted whats happening here.

You are looking at the dashboard without the car running, this is what you'll get with the key fully turned 1 away from actually starting...

As you can see, the STOP and other lights are lit - as a bulb test. Before you all bomb me, Yes I have water and oil temp bulbs out lol.

Obviously the water temp one will sit vertical, and the oil temp at about 1/3.

When you have it running like a sack of spuds, which lights, if any were lit matey?

Rick.

Right fred, nothing wrong with cooling system clearly, start looking at fuelling/ spark, crank over a couple of times, then inspect a spark plug,

its not quite a 'test' as such, with the engine stopped the oil pressure is low and the alternator isnt charging so the lights mean what they are telling you!

also you only have a water temp light out, there is no oil temp light :D

The handbrake light isn't work though!

Unless it's not on.

unless this is some kind of brake check.

If you start the car then stop it does the light come on?

Chaps, it is all fine and sorted.

It was an incredibly moist set of electronics and a shot ignition coul. New plugs and the like and she is running incredibly well again.

I am very un mechanically minded and just want to say thanks to anyone who voluntered information.

Many thanks

Fred
