What Is This Sensor On The Gearbox For?!

Recommended Posts

cybernck

i've been wiring an mi16 engine a few days ago but only today i've noticed

that i've not plugged the reverse light connector on the right sensor (on the

top of the pic), but on the wrong one that i don't know what it even is for.

does anyone know what's it for as my other gearboxes don't have it

(it could as well be something trivial that i've overlooked, as the past

few days of working on the car flat-out have been very exhausting...).

p.s. the gearbox is off a JAZ 1.9.

thanks.

The oil level warning sensor is normally on the back of the block, never heard of a gearbox having one!

The sensor that doesnt have anything plugged on it looks like a normal p2 reversing light sensor, no idea what the one the plug is on does.

The unpluged sesnor is always the reverse light, Where the plug is at the moment is the securing bolt for the reverse selector fork, The plug is normally white, The black one might be for the Vaper valve (Brown round thing)
