vince 0 Posted July 27, 2006 hi guys, I would like to know if anybody has already replaced the synchros inside the gearbox of its 1.6L GTI with a BE1 gearbox? here is the story: my 1.6 is from 86 and has around 350000km (over 200000miles) and the second gear is becoming hard to select, either up or down, with the gear somehow crash engaging. as far as I understand it must come from the synchros. the clutch has more than 100000km, and the clutch cable is brand new.
