Cam/head Gasket Choice

Hi all. Have my 1.6 engine removed and stripped. The cam is clearly heavily worn. Being as i need a new one, is it worth getting a standard one I should I go for an upgraded? I havn't priced up a standard one but it wouldn't surprise me if they're about as much as a performance one! The 205 is my everyday car so needs to remain driveable, but could put up with a bit of lumpiness. Also, is it worth getting a genuine head gasket?
