Blending Fresh Paint In To Old

Recommended Posts

mak

I've had to do some touch ups on some somewhat serious rust bubbles which has resulted in my respraying (with cans) some sections of the rear quarter. I've mostly had nice lines to spray up to so providing the paint match is good then repair wont notice.

However one section is kind of in the middle of a panel (its on the round section of the dimmas rear wing, just under the quarter light window) and so will need to be 'blended' into the existing paint on the bottom of the rear quarter once the masking tape has been removed.

In a word....how???

I know this can be done, just after some advice on what products (halfords rubbing compound? T cut??) and how to use them to get the result as spot on as possible...
