Uprated Coil

i have no ecu as its a carb engine. and i would rather keep it that way,

 

so as it is there is no way of increasing the sparking?

does the gti have the cylinder shaped coil, because i have the square shaped one,

 

so would this need uprating.

Yes, fit a CDI!

 

It goes between the existing ignition amp and the coil. Did you read any of the links I gave you? Notice the direct connection from the CDI to the battery. Typical current draw is 1A per 1000 rpm.

 

Also note there are no other connections to the coil. This creates an issue for 205 tachos however. The tacho can no longer be connected to the coil.

yes but all i found was things that go on fancy ECU control engines, which is what i do not want, i want it running as simply as possible.

 

and as i said above, i have a square coil, would i need to uprate to the cylinder shaped coil.
