jshep205gti 3 Posted May 11, 2006 Noticed a couple of oil drips where I leave my car, so I've just been down to my garage. The guy opened the bonnet as I explained where the 2 drips were. He felt under the distributor and there was fresh oil there. That'll be the O-ring I've got anddidn't change during the engine conversion then! So then I go on to say that there was a drip or too from the other side of the engine (cambelt side). Rocker gasket seems fine, but there is abit of oil coming from the bolt that attachs the rocker cover. The guy reckons there is a seal on this bolt (and the other probably). Is this right? I thought it was just 2 bolts with 2 small washers. Does anyone know of this small seal? Where from etc? I bought a whole gasket kit for my engine conversion, there are a couple of unused items.... but surely not a rocker bolt seal! Any info is appriciated.... if there's one thing I can't stand with a car it's an oil leak, bloody stuff gets everywhere! On the plus side however, the weather is gorgeous, my car is gleaming red in the sun, my new black wheels look too cool for school and the exhaust noise with the windows open is music to my ears. Tell your friends to get a 205 GTi because they're bloody good fun!!! Shep
j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted May 11, 2006 In a headset you should get some fibre washers used on the rocker cover bolts to help prevent them from weaping oil. The dizzy o ring doesnt generally come in a headset and is often not replaced but an easy fix.

There is something I strongly feel will be the O-ring, it better fit!! And there are also the fibre washers! Thanks!
