Replacing Cti Roof Covering

Recommended Posts

steve@cornwall

Bought one of them £75 pvc roof coverings off ebay about 6 months ago and keep putting the fitting off in case i naff it up! I've got myself some new cables made up, all new ss screws/nuts and impact adhesive (all marine grade from chandlers- £15 !!! how much from pug?). I've even stripped a knackered one to see how it all fits together. Even got a mint rear fixing bar and rear window section from a swap with a t.diesel rad and a couple of bumpers! Got one good rear stiffener and one home made one. Posting for a N/s stiffener or anyone know a supplier?,discontinued part

Has anyone done this who would give me some tips/pitfall warnings, please as I don't have any instructions.

Hi Steve,

I've put a new roof on recently, if you look on my link you can see it.

It is worth planning it out in which order everything has to be done, the only thing I could of done better was to finish the inner headlining before putting the new outer roof on, as it meant reaching awkwardly between the two with a rivet gun to finish off holding the headliner in place. I've repaired and reused the original rear window for now and will look to replace later, the only other problem I had is it took quite alot of jiggling around to get the roof to sit in the correct position to get the windscreen end clamps to connect properly.

I do have a copy of the instructions, if you pm or email me I'll sent it to you ,

Phil

I think I am just going to send mine to the local trimmer who has quoted £225 labour.
