Engine Mount Not Undoing

Im trying to undo the nut that holds the engine mount to the inner wing, but it just spins on the thread and doesnt undo.... anyone got any idea how to get it off.

Which mount you on about, the big one on left at the top or the gearbox one under the battery?

Sounds like your talking about the top engine mount, seems like youve over tightened it and stripped the threds. Could prove tricky to remove. You may be able to remove the other 3 bolts that hold the mount on and lower the engine enough to get access with a hammer and chisel to tap the mount round, thats if there is enough clearance for it to turn with the mount attatched. Otherwise get a small air cut off saw, dremel etc and cut it off.

If its the top nut that sits in the metal aluminium recess you could try jacking the engine up from above which will put upwards pressure on the nut and then try unscrewing it.

 

If it's the mount itself; it could be that the captive nut is spinning with the mount. I think you can just about see/get to this if you remove the driver's headlight and look along the channel that runs underneath the mount. May be able to lock the nut somehow?
