Alloy Fitment On Xs

Recommended Posts

Guest hboyow

I know its a 205 gti forum but i cant find info anywhere.

two questions:

1) Will 1.9 GTI alloys fit on my 1990 XS with no rubbing?

2) Will 405 mi16 alloys fit on my XS with no rubbing?

thanks in advance

1) yes but depends on tyre profile and if the car is lowered

2) yes theyre a 14 inch rim and go on no problem.

the car is lowered about 30mm, i was thinking of 195/45?

or would 185/45 be better?

I should think you would get 195/45's under no problem. Ive got 45's on at the moment and the gap is huge, might look more reasonable with yours been lowered.

m8-ive got an xs with 185/55/15s and no probs, it is lowered 30mm but does rub if you have passengers in the back. it rubs on the bumper- so either cut the bumper or move it back an inch.

its not a problem though really.

Paul.

If you have people in the back 195s on 1.9 rims will rub on the inner arches, resulting in shiney tire walls (n mardy cops if they catch u). Should be ok on 185s though.

right i conclude that the best thing to do is fit

185/45 tyres

as i want minimal rubbing and to be able to carry up to 4 people.

thanks for all the responses guys.

anyone got any photos of their XS' with 1.9 alloys on?

cheers

My xs was lowered 30mm and i had 185 55 r15s, it needed to have a little bit of angle grinding on the rear inner arches but thats about it.

For all i know they could be a one off because i have never seen any sideskirts or rear bumper like mine before, ever. i bought them off ebay, wernt cheap but theyre good quality.

The skirts are on ebay the moment, along with some other 205 goodies, my id's scandals13.

Does anyone know what the name of my sideskirts is?

My XS has 1.9 alloys on and 195/45s. They rub when there are a couple of people in the back, but with 2 in the front and none in the back I've never had the tyres rub
