jamesc 3 Posted April 3, 2006 My 205 has only just come out the garage after having some paint, drivin her 30 odd miles since and the paint has already cracked at the join (sill & rear quarter) realise that there is movement but anyway, either a certain paint or way of painting this part to stop this happening? its a white car so hairline cracks in the paint show up and look awfull. Cheers
Alastairh 47 Posted April 3, 2006 (edited) Well that line is a stress crack. So you should allow for there to be some movement and except for cracks to happen over time. But when you say its just come out of paint 30 miles ago, did they put new sealant in place? Heres a quick shot of my 205 with fresh seal on the upper crack. Whats the rest of the quality of the work like? Alastair Edited April 3, 2006 by Alastairh
jamesc 3 Posted April 3, 2006 Its this join, cant see it in the picture but the paint has cracked along and outwards. How do people normally paint this without it cracking? Rest of the work is very good
