Jonmurgie 2 Posted March 29, 2006 Somone mentioned to me yesterday that you can fit the rear arms off a 306 beam into the 205/309 beam and it offers you more negative camber... anyone heard this before? Just interested in gaining some more negative camber on the rear... Ialready have the SBC Negative Camber kit, though I think I might remove that and see about having some made with more camber maybe... Thoughts?
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted March 29, 2006 It does fit, but I'm not sure about the camber. It isn't noticeable at all.
Jonmurgie 2 Posted March 29, 2006 So we're talking a minimal camber increase then... less than 1/2 deg?
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted March 29, 2006 Visually the wheels sit the same as on a 205/309 (8V that is). The 309GTi16 beam has some more neg camber standard.
Jonmurgie 2 Posted March 29, 2006 Ah right, but then that car is rare as a are thing! Will look at fabricating some better camber plates I think
Anthony 1,003 Posted March 29, 2006 So we're talking a minimal camber increase then... less than 1/2 deg? I'll have to find the thread again, but from memory you were only talking about half a degree or so. For a road car that would probably be all that you'd really need, but for a track-bias car like yours then you'd probably want more than that.
smckeown 2 Posted March 29, 2006 i'd have thought you'd want to minimise roll before introducting more neg. camber
Jonmurgie 2 Posted March 29, 2006 Yes, we are working on that as well... just looking at all elements of the equation
Guest lenthepug Posted March 29, 2006 Does anyone know if an entire 306 gti rear beam will bolt straight on to a 309gti? I have been offered one and thought it might be cheaper that refurbing my beam? Thanks.
Anthony 1,003 Posted March 29, 2006 Does anyone know if an entire 306 gti rear beam will bolt straight on to a 309gti? I have been offered one and thought it might be cheaper that refurbing my beam? No it won't. Beam mounts are different between the two, plus the 306 beam is a fair bit wider.

Guest lenthepug Posted March 29, 2006 Yes the 306 beam probably could do with a refurb, just thought I would check the fitment before going any further. Cheers Guys.
