Seat Issues

right, ive just got some new seats from the scrap yard, and stupidly i didnt check the passenger one reclined properly. seems most of the internals have fallen apart in the winder mechanism, can you actually take it apart?

if not, id say its pretty shagged, how easy would it be to take all the fabric off and swap onto another seat, the bottom half looks easy enough but not sure about the top.

ill try to get a picture of the issue to explain it better..

cheers

Yup - I've done this a couple of times in an attempt to end up with a mint interior - I managed to get a brand new drivers seat frame from Peugeot for £75 (when they were clearing out old stock) which I'm building up into a "mint" example (well it'll be really tidy!) :o

I've got a few spare frames, and a loads of other seat spares, if you need a replacement.

Mart :)

Swapping the fabric shouldn't be difficult, it's just annoying taking it all apart. I did this the other week. Haven't transferred it to the new frame yet, though.

This may sound really sad, but when I swapped a full passengers seat fabric onto a drivers frame I actually did a video of me doing it, making reference to everything, this made the job idiot proof when putting it all back. Also if you go down this route ie changing seat frames you will either need to get hold of a paitr of Hog ring pliers and hog rings or use electrical wire and pliers to help put everything back together, as this is how the fabric is held down onto the frame.
