Block Breather On A Tu5j4. Whats It For?

The TU5J4 (106 16V) has a metal pipe that goes into the block near the bottom. But the Alloy 205 ones don't.

 

Whats this for, and wher does it connect to? Some kind of breather??

Yup it's connected to a breather in the head.
