Where Is The Engine Number Stamped On An Mi Block?

ive asked this before to inform insurance and update the v5

 

its stamped on a tally and should be on the back of the engine on the block just under the water distrbuter block.

basically it in the most awkward place ever, you'll have to get it up in the air to see it really.

most fall off, mine did on my old miami.

sometimes there on the front side of the block just above and behind the alternator.

They don't actually have anything stamped into the block. In Australia, engine numbers had to be stamped into the sump parting face (flywheel end) by dealers. Usually by a 1st year apprenetice laying on his back. Not even in a cassette. Consequently, the engine numbers looked very amaturish. The engine number was the last six digits of the VIN number. Blocks or cars that where privately imported from the UK had nothing.
