puginfo 0 Posted February 8, 2006 I had chance to try a few things out today and i think my probs are being caused by the fuel pump, not the regulator. I have a consistant hot start problem and also the same splutteryness on cold start. Basically i used a brake pipe clamp (plastic pliers) to clamp the fuel hose at the bottom of the filter and left it stand for about 30mins. Came back removed the clamp and it started first time! wow! (it's never done that) I'll hopefully get round to trying it from cold at some point to see if it helps, but it looks the the fuel pump isn't holding the pressure and is causing issues, the fuel pressure regular side is ok (fuel return). Any one got a spare fuel pump? >>> this is an old topic which i came across. would it be possible to add an external fuel check valve to back up the failing in pump valve? If what types are the best, the flapper o ringed type or the ball valve? cheers
Rob_the_Sparky 10 Posted February 8, 2006 Don't see why not but AFAIK there is one built into the system somewhere, in the pump at a wild guess.
