Ok cheers,

 

I think its working now.

 

As you say it does not turn off, and i think the float levers had stuck as I reconditioned them about 3years ago. Because when I tried again no flooding occured and i think the air was just the system bleeding as that has now stopped.

 

Does it make a difference if the pump is mounted vertically.

iirc the outlet should be higher than the inlet

Yes how i have done it, so its right.

 

They are labeled and i positioned it so the writing was the right way up.
