3 metres should do it. The cable runs from the aerial along the headlining, down the A pillar on the driver side, then back under the dash to the centre console.

 

Reading this thread again after more than a year it's quite amusing how stupid I was being with that metal cap!

 

Pleased to report perfect radio reception ever since the coax replacement...
