sorrentoaddict 1 Posted January 20, 2004 hi there, on my new GTI 1.9 the seats are full leather (grey with green stichning, green carpets, sorrento green colour). What cosmetic product / method do you recommend for replenishing the leather? The leather is very well preserved actually, but some minor cracks are there, and I would like to make it soft and protected. Any clues as to what products to use & how? vanny 0 Posted January 21, 2004 was lookin for this myself recently and the only decent advice i could find came from the DMC DeLorean Owners Handbook ; The leather should first be wiped with a cloth dampened in warm soapy water followed with a second wipingusing a fresh cloth and water only. Avoid soaking or flooding the leather. Finish by drying and polishing with a soft dry cloth. It is important to use a mild non-caustic soap (or soap flakes). An occasional use of leather treatment is recomended after the leather has been in use for a year or two. So off i trundled to the lotar MotorWorld and armed up with AutoGlym Lether Cleaner and AutoGlym Leather Conditioner, just followed the instructions and it instantly looked much better! richt 0 Posted January 21, 2004 In the three years i had mu goodwood, i used the autoglym leather cleaner once, conditioned it about once a month and wiped it over every week with a damp cloth. Beastie 1 Posted January 21, 2004 I've always liked regular application of Autoglym Leather Care cream to keep the leather supple, with Autoglym Leather Cleaner in between times just to keep things clean. My coachtrimmer has this thing about keeping the stitching clean too: He reckons that if you allow dirt to remain in the stitching it causes abrasion and shortens the life, so he recommends that the stitching is cleaned reguarly with leather cleaner and a toothbrush.
