Exhaust Hanger Rubbers

Anyone got a lead on decent exhaust hanger rubbers? Dug my 205 out of the shed yesterday to find all 3 rubbers had ripped through and the exhaust dragging on the floor - they were only a year old at most, must be poor quality these days. 

 

I take it polyurethane are the way to go?

standard ones from a motorfactor will suffice, they're not unique to a 205.

Buy a known brand of rubbers, from a local factor not all are the chicom rubbish that many fast fit places use.

Well one of mine is hanging down split too, noticed the rear silencer was moving about very easily , quality of stuff now really is rubbish

iv'e noticed this. bought a full Piper Stainless system that came with new hangers. only had it on a month and one rubber as deteriorated enough for it to slip off the hook. 

The old exhaust hangers were new 8 years old with only with 5000 miles, they were split and ready for the knackers yard, Dry weather use only!

I tend to add zip tie to these , just in case .. so that there's still something holding if the rubber goes poop .. 

 

The ones in Sasic and Walker/Bosal packages "used to be" decent enough ... haven't bought any reacently thus not sure .

 

Seems like all the other rubber stuff , especially if the car stands still unused often rubber parts simply crack split evaporate , something to do with the ozone and modern rubber componds completely lacking additives against ozone deterioration .

I bought a sasic one or was supposed to be but no stamp on it so not sure if its right or not ?  when I bought a lower engine torque bush it had the sasic stamp cast in. My ones since resto have only lasted just over 1  year before one split .

Sasic used to sell OE PSA parts , no idea what kind of a deal they have or had with the PSA , but often times before i found OE part repacked in Sasic package with manufacturer logo sometimes still on the part and other times erased .

 

Nowadays yeah , it's a bit odd as with everything else , some stuff from them are still reasonable quality others not so much .. i bought a few lower engine mounts from them too for bit newer PSA cars and yes they went bust bit too early ..

 

Ordered a few GKN driveshaft boots few months ago , and inside the package where repacked Sasic boots with the price increase for the brand name !

 

Rubber parts are terrible , like they use only one rubber compond for everything from hoses to the bushes .
