Hub finish

Recommended Posts

Thom

The welding on my project is complete and I have pretty much every part I need to put it back on wheels so it can go off to the body shop for paint.

I've removed the somewhat stubborn circlips and pressed out the old bearings from the hubs but would like your advice on the finish for the rusty hubs once I've cleaned them up.

Epoxy primer followed by 2k? Upol raptor? Powder coat???

Advice greatly received

Have the uprights blasted and powdercoated. Need to mask off the bearing and damper clamp bores, and the circlip groove, if your powder coater is any good he might do it for you. For the drive flanges, having them zinc plated is a better finish.

New drive flanges are on the way. The guy I've used for powder coating is very diligent with plugs and masking.
