B pillar striker worn Torx.

Recommended Posts

Hi. I have a door closing problem. Hinges are good with no play. The issue is the B pillar strikes needs to move outwards to make the door easier to close. The problem I have is the Torx head in the body appears to be worn so my Torx head key will slip if I put too much torque on it.

Which begs the question:

If I forget the B pillar because of the issue explained above, can the door latch be adjusted inwards so it engages with the B pillar striker earlier and ensure an easy close?

All ideas welcome. Thanks

the latch is fixed in place by countersunk screws, it is not adjustable,    the striker is.

try grabbing it with a decent set of mole grips, they wont be that tight.

You're the 2nd person to have told me about the door latch screws so thanks for confirming that. Sounds like gentle persuasion on the striker might be the answer. Cheers.
