Question - were original GTI exhaust manifolds stamped "GTI"?

I've bought what I believe is a NOS exhaust manifold - it looks correct, the ony difference is that it's stamped "GTI" on the lower portion which I've never seen before! Can't quite make out the numbering on it but it's clearly stamped GTI and from what I can tell it's the right shape etc.

Does this look like a new original exhuast manifold suitable for the 205 GTI?

never seen that before!

the casting looks like a late revision with the added ribs and the lack of brace between cylinder 3 and 4,

Yeah - I noticed the extra ribs which I understand were added later

It’s definately a 205 gti manifold though do we think? Looks identical but I’ve never ever seen any with a GTI stamp before!!

This is probably not a new old stock manifold. L'Aventure Peugeot is selling brand new ones for 259€ but there is no "GTI" on the one pictured on their website.

Some shops also sell manifolds with a slightly older design and their name cast on it so along good reproductions you may or may not find some cheap knock-offs.

Random Ebay find, someone was selling out of a lost pallet type listing.

Popped up when I was looking for a new one - much better at £65 than £500 ish from Spoox/France suppliers!!

You need to double check everything just in case but at this price it was well worth the risk.

Looking at the pictures it doesn't feel cheaply made and the fine details on the "GTI" show that this is not some rough casting form the cheapest sweatshop available.

Yeah but you factor in import tax etc and the price soon goes up fron Peugeot museum. I got stung last year with a whack of import tax. Still - even 259 is mad for a lump of cast iron !

Literally never seen one with GTI stamped on it
