205 xs with vtr engine drive problems

iv just finished putting a saxo vtr block with my ported and camed 3s head in my 205 xs,  I’m using a 1.1 ma gearbox out of a 106/saxo , and the clutch out of the vtr , with original 205xs drive shafts it all went together fine but it won’t drive its like the clutch is completely worn out slipping badley won’t even stall it , am I missing something? some compatbily issue ? Could be the pressure plate is lost it’s spring but it bolted up fine ? The long shaft drivers side is the only thing I question possibly it’s not gone all the way in the box? (Possibly looks that way hard to tell )but it certainly felt like it went in properly and the mid bearing bolted up fine , just want some opinions before I go pulling the box out again !  
shafts are standard 205 xs shafts I’ve used the mid bearing holder from the 3s 1400 engine and also the 205 xs gearbox top mount 

 

I can’t seem to find a definitive answer on the conversion I have searched plenty I no it’s been done plenty of times

Not that familiar with the MA box stuff, but have you fitted the clutch plate the wrong way around, so its holding off on the flywheel? I think you are going to have to take the box off.

That’s what I first thought but I pulled the box off Sunday morning and it was in the the right way
