Pierre_b 4 Posted Thursday at 02:46 PM Hello, I am looking for a way to lower the driver seat a few centimeter. I tried this morning by removing the big plastic washers and the mecanism that allow the seat to "fold" to give access to the rear seat. The position is better but I can t put back the safety belt "buckle", and there is not enough room to put the front bolts. Is there a know way to do this ? I am ok to limit the access to the rear seat by the Passenger door. Thanks, Pierre
SRDT 199 Posted Thursday at 05:35 PM Even on a 5 door the seat isn't directly bolted to the slide. I don't know if the 5 door 205 has lower seats or if they match the height of the 3 door. The 5 door 309 has seats that do feel a bit lower but unlike the 3 door the 5 door has special slides. It sould bolt on a 205 floor and 205 seats but I wonder if it will be enough. The 405 mk1 has the same slides than the 205 and there was a Peugeot -30mm lowering parts kit but it must be very rare today. Maybe the adjustable height mechanism from the 405 could do, with any luck it goes lower than standard in the low position.
Pierre_b 4 Posted yesterday at 04:25 PM Hello, Thank you for your inputs. I agree with you, I think 309 and 405 parts are going to be hard to source just to try. I didn't remember having the pb back in the day. I stored the car for ~10 years and meanwhile drove a suv with plenty of head room. I am wondering if something is off in my car, because it should be a bigger problem (I am not that tall and my head is close to the roof), and someone should have design some kit to solve the problem. Only thing that I changed from back in the days is the seats, I put some half leather 1900 seats. I am going to see if I can figure out a solution to reattach the buckle. SRDT 199 Posted yesterday at 05:56 PM You can get the 405 part... for a price. https://www.ebay.fr/itm/333392640953 https://www.miamistu.co.uk/pug/GB/405F/8/89D10A.HTM Oh and just a reminder that the weird screw to attach the buckle isn't metric, it's a 7/16"-20 (UNF) screw so 11.1125mm diameter with a 1.27mm pitch. The hex head is 5/8" or 15,875mm, that's why even a brand new 16mm spanner feels a bit loose and can damage it.
Pierre_b 4 Posted yesterday at 07:09 PM Thank, and indeed, too much money. By looking at the picture, it seems that the bolt to the châssis and the bolt to the seat are not aligned. I dont know how I made my first search, but with a better try, I found plenty of info : site:205gtidrivers.com lower seat Thank you for the bolt info, I wouldnt have guess that. I am going to try again with all this info ! Pierre
Pierre_b 4 Posted yesterday at 07:11 PM One more info, the buckle that I have is some first version, when I swaped the seats, the one on the seat werent working with my seat belt, I had to take those from the original seats. Pierre
