Are orange bulbs needed for front indicators Ph2 ?

Recommended Posts

Bit of an easy one , my car came in boxes and I don't remember there being any bulbs in the front indicators , even the lenses had fallen off so do the front indicators on a phase 2 need orange bulbs as I have clear ones fitted and they are a bit dull for being new units ? I must just confirm I have actually a 21w bulb in there next time I'm down too as they are a bit disappointing in daylight  can't find the answer online so far. The rear smoked ones are way better and far easier seen.

I have orange bulbs in my clear front lenses.  It is a phase 1.5 but had been converted to clear front lenses/smoked back lenses by a previous owner.

Front lenses with orange bulbs in are very visible on my car in daylight.

Not usually, just plain white 21w bulbs,

There's a secondary coloured lens inside the indicator if you have original fit units.

If your lens is off, can you see the bulb or is there a piece of plastic over it?

Thanks lads , the lens were off the old ones so I got new ones , one is genuine but was disappointed to far with the light output , I just want to check I actually put a 21 watt in there but sure I did.or maybe I have a bit of an earth issue and they are dimmer than they should be .

The wiring at the front of the car suffers, Peugeot didn't use sealed connectors so water gets in and the wire corrodes/goes black, much like the washer pump wiring we discussed the other day. It might be you need to cut back and let some new wire in there if they are dim.

Well the washer pump is now working again , wire was broken inside just behind the spade connector even though it looked ok . I had odd pieces of wiring I bought and the washer pump spades are wider then most of the other peugeot spade connectors, the single connectors are the same size though  but I had a plug for the rear washer pump so used the wire of that . Will see if I can get any water to the jets tomorrow when its all back together.
