Injector spray pattern

So, a friend  bought himself and injector testing machine for christmas, we did a trade of he cleans and refurbs my injectors and i supply him with isopropanol for the machine.

I went over today to get them cleaned, we first did a leak check, then did an idle spray check and they seemed more to spray a jet than a a mist.

So we stuck them in ultrasonic cleaner bath for 20min and then retested them and they still spray a jet rather than amistt?

He thenproceededd to roast me on my knackered injectors.  So we tested some of his that he also cleaned ultrasonically and same thing no mist just a jet. 

 

I was wondering is this normal?

Or are they suppose to spray a mist which then mixes with the air in the inlet manifold. 

 

He's going to clean them some more and change all the caps and seals and filters and retest them.

Ok thanks, another thing. He bought some injector refurb kit from ali express and the caps seem to be a bit loose is this.normal
