Tracking a Battery Leak

Recommended Posts

Gohn

two days ago whilst driving, I noticed a battery light on my dash

I just guessed at it being a dodgy alternator

the battery was a bit low on charge but not flat

put in a brand new spare altntr I had the next day (mines a TD so it was a rad out job to remove it)

now with the new altntr the dash is all normal when driving, the battery is well charged, but the battery light comes on when I turn the engine off and even with the key out

I figured it is probably a cracked/rubbing wire somewhere in the engine bay but how do I try and track it ?

have disconnected battery overnight to stop it potentially draining
