Do you know how to put it back together?

I have a LCD clock that I took apart to check solder joints as the bulb worked but the display didn't. As I split the two halves of the plastic case the components fell out and now I am not sure what order they go in to reassemble it. Like a small jigsaw witout the lid .

Can you tell me how to put it back together please?

The black rectangles go in the cream blub housing and provide the contact to the screen from the board.

 

The film colours the screen and you have the outer case.

 

The gray squashy bits are for the adjust buttons and touch the PCB board

I couldn't work out where those rectangular pieces went. Or how power was going to get from the PCB to the screen. Thanks for your help.

I found an old school electrical engineer this week who was able to fix my LCD clock. The bulb illuminated but the lcd screen didn't. 

It was suggested in the forum that the solder joints behind the power pins may be at fault. It was inspected, but they were ok as were all other joints. It turns out that the there are two electrical tracks at the bottom and top of the screen which had cracked. The engineer waved his magic soldering iron and hey presto, it all works again! 

£20 and a day later I now have a clock that should last another 25 years.

It's the reason why I like finding independant specialists and keeping them in business. 

The only other option was trying to find another clock that worked and hope that didn't fail.

Anyway, now I can fit the clock, my new head unit and get the rest of the centre console fitted, and that's the interior finished at last.
