apologies if this info is just a repeat of what you already know

camshaft for a 1989 205GTI 1.9 could be either

number 0801N1 which is an XU9J1

or... 0801P2 which is an XU9JA

or... 08001N5 which is an XU9JAZ

the XU9JAZ is rated to 120hp and it has a Z , so probably 08001N5 is the one you want

but I've no clue really, the catalog does not refer to DKZ so hopefully a more knowledgeable owner will confirm

DKZ is easy to identify. It is the only cam to have inlet lift of 0.448" and exhaust lift of 0.405".

This :

They have paint ring marks for ID which is which ...

New aftermarket there's one from "Ajusa" 93012900 , and AE (Federal Mogul) CAM459 . But i doubt that they're the correct specific to the 1.9 engine/camshaft variations in terms of lift duration lobe angle etc.

Better to find good used original , or go for one of the mild performance cams .

Yes (i'll try) , but better picture is needed .. take a picture of complete camshaft , good close up shot .

The part of the camshaft on which are the paint ring markings are blocked by those white plastic containers .

Can you measure the lobes with the vernier calipers ? if you can measure both inlet and exhaust and post measurements so we'll see ..
