My new Sasic arms have arrived at my friends, (haven't  got them home yet to try to fit them) but they seem to be the same chinese crap! They have the same chinese stamps on them.

I looked at peugeot adventure shop, who also sell sasic and you can see the same stamp.

You would think that peugeot would of checked compatibility before putting them on the shop.

Im going to collect them tomorrow, fingers crossed they fit. If not then back to square one.

Oh s*** .... bad luck :(

Obviously demand for 205/309 wishbones is low , thus most of the "repacker" brands opted for outsourcing them from the PRC .

Sadly this'll get even more common as time goes on with regards to the 205 aftermarket parts .

If it's the same item crap as Delphi , write an complain to Sasic backed up with the pictures of the faulty part which obviously isn't usable .

And return it asap from where you bought it so you get you're money back .

TRW and Lemforder don't make them anymore (but , could be some "old stock" still) , so if going by the actual manufacturer i'd try one last time : Teknorot .

At least they're the manufacture/suspension components production , not the "repacker" of parts made in PRC :

https://www.teknorot.com/en/product/p-227/

... so fingers cross those should be good .

So a little story, my mum goes sheep hearding as a hobby and she met a guy who knows a guy who is a hoarder of peugeot parts. I gave him a call and he possibly has some old stock    which he is willing to sell. I will see what happens.

So i've had a reply back from Delphi as follows  in the attached photos.

Basically if anyone else has this fault please use the email address in the photos and the contact is Ben, lets see if we can get something sorted.

Little update, i received my new arm and i have 1 orginal sasic arm which fits perfectly and the another is another chinese copy.

The sasic one you can see that its old stock, as the label on the packaging is quite worn, and the chinese one is all fresh and new.

Iam waiting on the guy with old peugeot stick to contact me and see what he had to offer and will take it from there.

 The saga continues.

These came from a supplier called 'Dr car parts ' via ebay and have numbers and letters stamped on rather than chinese symbols so i can imagine are old stock or something maybe ?

Yes but , 309 wishbones ideally needs 309 driveshaft to go along as a set when fitting on 205 .

Anyhow thanks for info !

Any chance of a few good photos of the complete Chinese wishbone ? so that people could spot it without tearing/opening the package (as returns are excepted and 100% refundable if the original package and label is undamaged)

Damir, got two wish bones L&R both are suppose to be Sasic, the left one fits properly and ( bushes machined properly) and the right one is another   chinese crap excatly design dimensions as the delphi one. Its as if supplier is sourcing them.from.the same factory.

Both have sasic ball joints, and both came in a sasic packet with a sasic label.

pictures 1-3 are the good sasic arm which fits.

Pictures 4-6 are the Chinese one. You can kind of that its a bit chunkier and has a chinese stamp followed bu the numbers 1j22.

The last picture is the Delphi one and you can see the same number.

This is a picture of the delphi one i got supplied you can see the Chinese stamp with the four numbers/ letter after it. You can also clearly see that its a lot chunkier, the webbing is a lot fatter.

I spoke to my.guy who has a stock of peugeot parts and he only has used ones.

So im going to order another sasic( last in stock) from MA and pray that its not another chinese one.

I called their customer service and ask if there was any chance that they could check the package before sending , the guy basically said No as its a robot who picks  the parts? When i tried to explain the situation he basically said that all their parts where good and it was me who didnt know what i was doing when ordering off their site. Call centre TWAT!

Luckily they have a 30day return policy and tey pick up the postage fee ( Luckily post office is 50m from my house do dont mind sending stuff back).

I also  allex sasic and explained the situation and they guy said he would forward it to quality control. Didnt even ask me for any contact information or photos so probably going to file thatbone in the bin,  vive la France.

I will let you know how i get on with the other sasic one.

Yep ! it's all the same identical crap from the same factory with crap blueprints for making them ! ... just repacked by various different brands and offered on sale here .

I did some research via my parts supplier wholesale catalogue , there's pictures of the wishbones and if looking closely - pretty much all of the brands now on the market selling suspension parts , known and unknown brands , are reselling these the same item crap wishbones for the 205 GTi !! = DO NOT BUY ! (unless TRW , Lemforder .. and maybe Teknorot)

I see , then you got one "old stock" good and one "new stock" crap wishbone ...

TBH , i wouldn't really risk going Sasic again - try instead Teknorot .. they're in Turkey , massive suspension part manufacturer , and there's a lot of parts for PSA and Renault both new and old made in Turkey , Morocco , Algiers ... quite a lot of old french cars still driving in those areas too .

Thus , I'll hazard a guess Teknorot wishbones for the 205 should still be OK. !

Customers service is crap nowadays no matter which location on the globe , people do not care s*** no more for anything but waiting for they're shift to end and getting paid on the end of the month .

Take it easy no need to stress , they'll find out somethings up when they get enough of the parts returned back from the sellers .

What ever you do , do not open up the original package and watch for the package label (label's , barcode ect.) - if all good , not opened (inspect part trough the plastic package) , all the labels still on and not damaged you can return it back from where you bought it and get full refund .. just watch out for the specified time limit in days in which you can return it back (differs slightly depending on the shop/seller and discount % if you have any in that shop ..)

Thanks for the pictures !

I had a bit of a hallelujah moment, after being so focused on these chinese wishbones.

I did a clutch change last spring and  doing so i nicked the passenger side ball joint rubber. This is why i needed new a new wishbone.

In my old man ways i thought might as well change both, for peace of mind      " Do a job right not twice". Thus my journey began to buy 2 new wishbones.

Well today whilst preparing the box to ship the Chinese wishbone back to Mister auto i realised that i the good sasic wishbone was the passenger side checked the old drivers side one and the ball joint is still nice and stiff and the bushings are still good.

So i will run the sasic one one side and the old one on the other side, so i can a least get the car back on the road and enjoy it.

I will start looking for a new drivers wishbone in the winter of this year. Gives the manufacturer a good 8months to get there act together and sort out this problem with the Chinese ones.

So hopefully tomorrow will start putting everything back together.

For tightening up the wishbone bolts was going to put the wheels on and drop the car onto 2 15cm high bricks that way i have good accessibility to the bolts..good or bad idea?

if u only need ball joint boots, get them here:

https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=boot&model_model=Golf Mk2

they are Meyle, part no  357-407-375

i got a set , they looked too small but fit perfect and quality rubber

recommended by jay (ozimandis) in an earlier post

for tightening wishbone bolts ,

think i put them thru, everything back together, wheels on, drop car and torque up with weight on

If the pin of the balljoint isn't excessively loose , and you can't feel any play in-out and sideways between the pin and base/cup (put it in vice and try wiggling the pin with pliers if you can feel any free play) , old known good used wishbones will no doubt serve you for quite a while ... especially if the roads there are good and you do not use it every day aka as a daily .

When installing , I usually jack up the wishbone on the balljoint end from underneath until it's about horizontal +/- and then tighten up the bolts on the bushes .. easier than crawling under especially if lowered !
