Stub axle length. 205 gti 1.9 rear beam disc brake

I have bought a new rear beam from imaxle and the stub axle seems to be about 5 mm longer.

When I swapped bearing ect from the old beam and put the hub nut back on there was play in the hub. 

doing up the hub nut and making the hub tight means I can no longer bend the end of the nut into the grove on the stub axle to fasten it as the nut is further down the bolt. 
will this be safe as the Bolt nut isn’t secured.

Did you transfer the large spacer/washer found behind the wheel bearing?

306 are longer, to account for ABS, if fitted. A spacer is used if ABS is not fitted.

Good old Imaxle #rolleyes what was wrong with old axle? Do you still have it? Or did you trade it in. Stew at bbm is the nan gor new stub pins

Can someone confirm TOTAL length inc flange of 1.9 gti stub axle , Baker lists 126mm but mine are 132mm which is coming up as a 206 on ebay. Its still in the arm so can't measure plain shank length.

Thanks for link that appears to be longer than the ones I have by 5mm , mine are 2 different makes one is possibly original  its all a bit confusing as I doubt there is only 1 correct original spec

The plain shank length is the parameter that matters; for the 2DS one it is C-D1=105mm, as mentioned before:

If the total length is a bit longer, but D1 is as well, you can still have that 105mm. 

 

2DS 206 stub

The 206 has shank length of 103mm, so likely that will fit as well

see a 306 one on ebay  105 shank and 138 total length which is the same as the 205 gti 1.9  one quoted above .
