Good afternoon all.

Before I ask, please forgive the stupidity.

Was following wiring from front driving lights to find why they were not working.  Turns out to be a faulty relay. Came across this behind passenger headlamp.  What is it? It looks a bit corroded  so wanted to know what it's for, in case it needs replacing.

Thanks.

Stephen

MrAndy

I believe it is the thermal switch to control the radiator blower on/off.

It is a dim/dip resistor.

Here is some description about it.

I just double checked because I noticed exactly similar the other day in my 309(SRi) engine bay and wondered what it is

I agree it's the dim dip resistor. It's right at the passenger side corner of the engine bay in the 309.

The wires to it say RR and RJ. In the Haynes it shows such component in Diagram 2;309 H manual that is.

Component 35 = dim dip resistor
