Driveshaft seals replacement interval

Recommended Posts

ladderboy

I've just removed most of front suspension on my 1.9 GTi to clean up and replace perishables. Also removed both driveshafts to replace perished bellows. While it's all out, wondered if I should replace driveshaft seals into gearbox? No signs of weeping. What typical service interval for these? Am I being overcautious? How easy are they to replace? Cost of seals? Thanks for help.

If they dont have any signs of wear , or if they still actually prevent gearbox oil leaking , i dont think its worth the job. But , its up to you , after placing the driveshafts in place and after putting the gearbox oil again check if there is any leak from them , be carefull when putting the driveshafts in place.

 Best Regards!
