Into the blue

Hi 

 

205 GTI GTI 1.9 1988

 

I've been trying to solve another problem but I removed the hose which connects the air filter box to the start of the fuel injection system and I see on the underside of the large hose there is a blue inlet... with nothing connected to it. I presume something is missing but I don't see anything that may have fallen off.

 

Would someone be kind enough to explain what I should do? Here's a picture:
