Are 306 rear calipers the same as 205?

I need to get a new rear caliper for my 205 (MOT failure), and seeing if I can widen my search with other models that have the same caliper. Does the 306 have the same caliper?

there are two piston sizes, 30 and 32mm, most 306 used 32mm, 205 only used 30mm

You can find the right ones on a mk1 306 as long as it's not a GTI6.

So does a larger piston make any difference? I obviously want to avoid unbalanced brakes.

Might be worth looking at Renault 5 GT Turbo - I did my first disc conversion with these and apart from the cast vs cylindrical handbrake cable arm, visually they look the same as the current set.  Didn't measure piston sizes so can't comment on that.

they do tend to be pretty decent at posting stuff out same day if you order and pay early enough.
