Power to oil pressure and oil temp gauges.

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I am troubleshooting my instrument cluster gauges and have found that the oil pressure and temperature gauge doesnt appear to have any power. I grounded the sensor wires and no movement at all. However my fuel gauge and coolant temp works fine therefore it seems like the dashboard cluster has power. All the connectors on instrument cluster are connected. Are the gauges all powered individually?

Thanks

Don't know whether it helps but this is what I found things connected to when I was looking to fit a 205 GTI cluster :

Well I found the issue the stop light was not on and the oil pressure switch was not working. I grounded the oil pressure switch and then the oil pressure gauge worked when I grounded it and the same for the oil temperature plus stop light worked.. Thanks for all your help
