How much space req'd to change rear ride height

Recommended Posts

Can the ride height be altered without the length of a torsion bar free space at each side of car?

I think I have about 2ft space each side of car in my garage to work, would that be enough to get the job done?

It'll be a squeeze but I think it's definitely possible in that space.

Assuming you're doing it the proper way with both ends of the torsion bar removed, you only need to remove the bars enough so the splines are free of the tube & radius arm to adjust the ride height.

It should be possible, but come across a seized bar or some other problem and you could be struggling with no room to sort it out. As the weather is nice I'd be more inclined to pull it outside on a nice day and get on with it.

Okdoky, thanks.

My beam was refurb'd in 2013 and hardly done any miles...... hopefully wouldn't be too much bother with it.

It's just while i've got car on stands while waiting on the fuel pipe deliveries.......( i'm furloughed and got to stage now i'm inventing jobs.)
