Hi all I’m new to this looking to find if someone could help out or if anyone has any ideas . I’m having a problem with my 8 valve 1.9 gti engine got it running without the air flow metre on and as soon as I plug the air flow metre in the engine suddenly revs Upto roughly 3000 rpm and after acouple of seconds it will cut out. Anyone got any ideas to solve this ?

When did this start?

 

Have you changed any thing else?

 

The ecu only gets 2 inputs, one from the AFM and 1 from the temp sensor, the afm is probably giving a bad signal to the ecu to stop it running
