Wheel offset on 1.6gti speedlines

Recommended Posts

K20205

Hello everyone i recently bought a set of ford fitment alloys (described wrong on ad) i tried to fit them to my 205 and it wont fit,

my alloys are et24 and they new ones i got are et38, what can i do to make the new alloys fit? Which size spacer will i need and is it worth adding spacers?

thanks

Not enough information

Are both the new and old wheels the same width? If so, you need a 14mm spacer.

But the Ford centre bore is smaller than Peugeot, so there is potential work to do there as well.

The ones on my car now are 1.6 gti alloys speedline which are 185/65/14 5.5j and my new alloys are 195/60/15 6.5j with an offset of 38.

i thought id need 25-30mm spacers to make them fit.

is your google broken?    :P

195 60 15 is too tall for a 205, quite unlikely they will even go in the arch, original tyre size was 185 55, most commonly used is 195 50.

1.6.14" wheel is et25.

you should bookmark https://www.willtheyfit.com/

its an invaluable tool, with your dimensions thrown in these are the results    https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=185&aspect=60&diameter=14&wheelwidth=5.5&offset=25&width2=195&aspect2=60&wheel_size=15&wheel_width=6-5&offset2=38

as you can see, the tyres are 18.7mm (3/4" almost)  taller in radius, without a spacer the outer face would sit in the same place if they cleared on the inside, but as you found they dont, a 25mm spacer would bring them out to the same inner clearance though you may get away with 20mm.

given you need to use a fairly thick spacer you can get around the Ford centre bore to Peugeot bore difference quite easily by choosing the appropriate spacer.

something like these  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-x-20mm-Alloy-wheel-spacers-fit-Ford-Wheels-to-Peugeot-206cc-65-1-63-4-4x108/223376554051?hash=item340247b843:g:tcUAAOSwOztcXYKW

don't forget you'll need bolts 20mm longer than standard, most likely tapered as well.

alternatively use something like these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PCD-wheel-adapters-20mm-Citroen-Peugeot-4x108-to-let-you-fit-Ford-4x108-wheels/223553608263?hash=item340cd55a47:g:q2YAAOSw~bhcDEb2

which you bolt to the wheel hub then the wheel bolts screw into the spacer, though these ones in particular still use the psa 12x1.25 not the ford 12x1.5

Thanks,

i went to check the new wheels and they are actually 195/50/15 tyres,

i inputted the specs of both wheels and this is what the calculator is telling me,

so would i be able to get away with 25mm spacers ?

thanks

20 mm spacers should give clearance to the strut, but then the wheels will stick out 20mm more than before. Check wheelarch clearance.

What about for the rears? Would same size spacer do the job? Its touching the inner wheel arch right now
