Which Bilstein dampers?

I need some help please

I want to put new dampers/springs on my J plate 1.6 gti but can figure out which setup to fit.

I only use the car on road at weekends.

Which setup is best

B4 which seems slightly uprated and a good price

B6 uprated further still fair price

GroupN Tarmac which are expensive but seem very good but are they overkill for road use and waste of extra money?

whats your thoughts experience ?

cheers

For road use I would stick with B4 front, and eibach spring, and Xsara B4 rears.

Hi,

I would like to know as well. But I believe tire size will have an influence as well right? I would be interested in small 145/80 R13 on an TU3 engine car.

What is the recommendation for a Bilstein damper for a car like this? For me also road use only.

Eibach and B6 . Group N are a bit too choppy for our awful roads. ( in my view having tried both)

Can anyone shed any light on where the bilstein sprintline kit fits in? I put a sprintline kit on my 205 got to be 12 years ago, always fantastic on the road but maybe a touch soft on the track, but a great compromise. Does anyone know would this be the same as a B4? It came with front springs in the kit.

I think I have picture of the rear damper number if that helps.20200406_104106.thumb.jpg.0039096c0949c3c3c4de480406582f7e.jpg

B2/4 are oem replacement, black bodies

Sprintline were B6/8     Yellow bodies, most are oversized pistons but some are inverted insert type like the motorsport dampers.

then you have the motorsport stuff which is yellow painted or yellow Zinc passivated, new stuff seems to be silver zinc.

it all changed quite a bit not too long ago so there can be some confusion as some part numbers are quite similar.

Thanks Welshpug. My two cents is my bilteins have been on for more than 20thousand miles and more than 13 years, and I think they are awesome for road use.
