XU cylinder head filter gauze

Archie's mid life crisis

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can point me to somewhere to buy the gauze filter that is in the XU cylinder head oil way. Think the part number is 1186.08. Done a bit of searching about but it doesn't appear to be readily available.

Thanks

Athol

Morning all - sorry to resurrect this old thread but does anybody out there know where I might be able to source these for a reasonable cost please ???

....as can be seen, think current one is well past its "sell by date"

Thanks in advance :P

1186 08

OE part , so ask @ Peugeot/Citroen dealer ... or via Peugeot museum site .

All XU engines have the same 8v and 16v , older and newer/late XU's .

TBH , can do without it as oil filter does the main job ..

More often than not it gets clogged up with alu. filings when machinists skim the head base , and they never seem to spot that there's filter element inside the head .

Do you have the dimensions for this? Looks remarkably similar to something we use at work.

I think there was some PSA memo about removing this filter on the 16v head.

Ah well, totally different size! The filters we have here are plastic and used in a wash system, not sure how they'd last with oil at pressure in an engine.

Nice calipers though!
