Eibach Springs Fitting Help

Recommended Posts

The Gentleman

I am just in the process of re-building the front end of my project 205GTI. I am looking to fit my Bilstein's B6 with Eibach springs (part number E7001-120) and need help with hopefully a simple issue. The springs come in the box with a clear/white plastic sleeve covering each end (i.e. top and bottom) of the spring - see photo. Do I remove these these sleeve's and bin them (I think so) or leave on - help and assistance greatly appreciated.

Thanks Justin

I just fitted mine and left them on.  should prevent creaking as it’s metal to metal contact where they sit in the spring pans.

Yes they prevent creaking and stop the powder coat from rubbing off if/when they go coil bound (most likely on the tightly wound progressive end)
