boldy205 74 Posted October 18, 2019 Has anyone retro fitted an inertia switch to thier 205? I've got a Gti6 engine in my 205 with a modified Gti6 loom, which I'm 99% sure has had the inertia switch removed. For the fuel system, I've got a twin pump swirl pot setup using the standard fuel pump live to trigger a relay. With this I'm pretty sure if the car stalls, the tachimetric relay cuts the power to the pumps, however id like something a bit more 'proper ' Thanks Matt
boldy205 74 Posted October 18, 2019 Something like this: https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/switch-inertia-fuel-pump-c41220ax.html
Tom Fenton 1,524 Posted October 19, 2019 I haven't but theres no reason why you couldn't do so. I wouldn't pay £38 from Moss however, there are hundreds of inertia switches in scrapyards that have probably never ever been triggered in normal use in a road car, expect to pay £5/£10 with the plug and a bit of wiring! boldy205 74 Posted October 19, 2019 Thanks for the idea Tom, do all inertia switches work purely on a shock, rather than an actual button being pressed? . I just feel it might add a degree of safety if the worst happens.
Tom Fenton 1,524 Posted October 19, 2019 The button is to reset the switch if it triggers.
