Auto to manual swap problem

Am I right in thinking if an auto 405 is in gear it won’t allow the engine to start?

I’ve got 2 left over plugs, one I imagine will be a reverse light and the other is a very unusual square plug with 4 round female pins that I’ve never seen on a pug before so guessing it’s to do with the auto box?

 

is there a way around this?

220.reverse light (yellow) 

 

these go to the reverse light switch.

 

then join together 

c128 ignition controlled live (red)

106 ignition inducer (red)
