Tu5j4 rev counter problems

Recommended Posts

Paulgiblin

I have a tu5j4 engine and ecu in my 205. I bought a rallye rev counter and can't get it to work. Bought spooks tacho converter connected to ecu tacho out and still nothing. Went abs bought after market rev counter still nothing. Tested continunity back to ecu was good. Tested for any voltage I have nothing. Not even a blip on the volt meter. Anyone know the pin out on single plug phase 1 saxo vts ecu to make sure I defo have the correct wire? I have tested against a spare loom and seems  do have the correct wire. So why isn't my rev counter working lol

easy enough to make up a signal pickup to run the original standard tacho from the wasted spark coil, been covered on here many a time, well under a quid of resistors/diodes.

Any reason why the zender diode is 18v. I would of thought to use a 15v one?
